Folmer and Cox to Host Public Meeting About Wernersville Community Corrections Center

State Senator Mike Folmer (R-48) and State Representative Jim Cox (R-129) will co-host a public meeting about the Wernersville Community Corrections Center at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 25.  Representatives from the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections (DOC), which oversees the facility, will be on hand to answer questions from residents.

“A basic purpose of government is to ‘insure domestic tranquility’ and ‘provide for the common defense,’” Folmer said.  “Citizens have a right to know what’s going on in their neighborhood, which is why Representative Cox and I want to give people an opportunity to ask questions about their neighbors at the State Hospital.”

“If residents have questions, we want the Department of Corrections to provide them with answers,” Cox said.  “This is about bringing the two sides – the public and DOC – together in one place.  Government has a responsibility to be accountable and answerable to the community it serves.”

The meeting will take place at Calvary Bible Fellowship Church located at 4891 West Penn Ave. in Sinking Spring.

Residents who plan to attend the meeting are asked to R.S.V.P. by calling Cox’s district office at 610-670-0139, or by visiting his Web site at, clicking on “Public Meeting about the Wernersville Community Corrections Center” after scrolling over the “Upcoming Events” link on the left-hand side, and filling out the online registration form.
