The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) will hold a public input hearing on an application filed by the North Heidelberg Water Company  NHWC to abandon public water service and transfer its customers, along with its utility assets, to the Reading Area Water Authority, which would result in a rate increase for customers.

The public hearing is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 14, at the Christ Little Tulpehocken Church Fellowship Hall, located at 40 Church Rd. in Bernville.
